Video quality

The NOMVDIC P2000 stands out as a pinnacle in video quality, offering an unparalleled cinematic experience. At the heart of its visual prowess is the utilization of advanced technologies, including DMD’s 0.47-inch device that effortlessly displays 4K UHD content. The RGB LED contributes to the projector’s impressive brightness, reaching a remarkable 2500 ANSI lumens. In a dark room, the Movie HDR setting brought out exceptional image quality, especially notable during scenes with significant contrasts between brightness and darkness. The projector managed to maintain intricate details in shadows without compromising on brightness. Outdoors, the P2000 excelled with a high brightness performance of 2500 ANSI lumens, complemented by movie-like 6500K color reproduction. Even film grain retained its sharpness, contributing to a lifelike cinematic experience.

A standout feature is the projector’s ability to reproduce intense red lighting, a testament to its laser light source. The controlled brightness ensures an immersive experience without overwhelming the viewer. Scenes set in dark environments, such as the aircraft cabin, showcased deep blacks, well-lit instruments, and excellent resolution, further emphasizing the projector’s prowess in rendering HDR-era films realistically.

Extending its capabilities to gaming, the P2000 exhibited outstanding performance on the PlayStation 5 with games like Uncharted. HDR performance was vibrant, textures were rich, and latency minimal, making it a suitable choice for console gaming. Even in fast-paced games like Dirt 5, the projector continued to shine, delivering an immersive gaming experience with vibrant colors, smooth motion, and no noticeable issues such as ghosting or blurring.

Sound quality

The NOMVDIC P2000 doesn’t just excel in visual performance; its built-in audio capabilities are equally remarkable, setting a new standard for ultra-short-throw projectors. Equipped with Harmon Kardon-tuned speakers, each boasting 25 watts, the audio quality delivered by these built-in speakers is nothing short of fantastic.

During the playback of the Dark Star takeoff scene in “Top Gun: Maverick,” the audio experience is immersive, with bass that effortlessly fills the room. Remarkably, this is achieved even when the projector is positioned directly below the screen.

An additional testament to the audio prowess of this projector is its handling of “The Sparrow’s Door Shut,” recorded in 5.1ch DTS-HD Master Audio. Despite being a built-in speaker system, the clarity of the audio lines and the sense of realism are excellent. The unit’s compatibility with DTS audio further enhances the overall audio experience, providing a level of detail that eliminates the need for a separate soundbar.

NOMVDIC P2000: Conclusion

The outstanding image quality of the P2000 is a result of its impressive optics, precise focus, deep black levels, and excellent contrast. The projector strikes a balance that some of its competitors may miss, especially in the realm of color reproduction. Reds, in particular, are handled exceptionally well—neither oversaturated nor overpowering, presenting a balanced and visually pleasing image.

One noteworthy aspect is the effective management of fan noise and thermal performance, ensuring a comfortable viewing experience. The built-in speakers, tuned by Harmon Kardon and delivering powerful audio, contribute to the immersive nature of the P2000. The ability of these speakers to fill a room adds to the overall positive impression of the projector.
