Oppo Reno10 Pro+: Design
The Oppo Reno10 Pro+ maintains the design language of its predecessor, showcasing a 3D hyperboloid body with a smooth structure that offers a comfortable grip and fits the curvature of the palm. The device is a stunning brilliant gold color, reminiscent of the Tomorrow Gold variant from the previous Reno 9 Pro+. However, there are notable improvements in the manufacturing process, with the name changing from gold silk glass to golden thread. The glass back of the phone features numerous small vertical lines, giving it a unique visual texture. When sliding your fingers vertically, the movement feels smoother compared to horizontal sliding. The glass has a touch similar to frosted glass but with a more pronounced visual effect. This vertical pattern is less prone to scratches, offering peace of mind to users.
The camera module is positioned in the upper left corner on the rear shell of the device. It takes on an elliptical shape, similar to the OPPO Find X6 series, with the main camera and ultra-wide angle lenses covered by glass and surrounded by a metal decoration. The lens is placed on the left side and adorned with curved lines, while the right side features the inscription “Powered By MariSilicon.”
Equipping a periscope telephoto lens often results in a thicker device due to the limitations imposed by the sensor and lens shape. The Oppo Reno10 Pro+ maintains a relatively slim profile, measuring 8.28mm in thickness. Although the OmniVision OV64B sensor used for the periscope telephoto lens appears small, it is actually a mainstream flagship-level sensor in this category.
The middle frame of the phone is constructed from plastic material, which might be slightly disappointing for some users as the previous Reno 9 Pro+ featured a metal frame. However, the plastic frame of the Reno10 Pro+ feels solid and has undergone meticulous polishing.
All physical buttons are located on one side of the phone, with the power button featuring a distinctive green decoration. Unlike previous Oppo models where the power and volume buttons were placed on different sides, this arrangement provides a more convenient user experience.
At the top of the phone, a glass decorative strip houses the speaker holes, infrared sensor, and noise-cancelling microphones. However, due to variations in the manufacturing process, the color of this glass strip may differ slightly from the overall color of the phone, often appearing more white.
Moving to the bottom of the device, the frosted middle frame houses the speaker holes, Type-C port, main microphone, and SIM card slot, offering a clean and well-organized design.
Display
The Oppo Reno10 Pro+ boasts a 6.7-inch OLED display on the front, delivering a resolution of 2772×1240 pixels and a pixel density of up to 450PPI. The screen supports a maximum LTPS (Low-Temperature Polysilicon) refresh rate of 120 Hz, allowing for smooth and fluid visuals. Additionally, it offers four intelligent dynamic refresh rates of 45, 60, 90, and 120 Hz, adapting to different content and saving power accordingly. The device also supports HDR10+ for enhanced dynamic range, ensuring a more vivid and immersive viewing experience. With a color gamut of 1.07 billion colors and P3 wide color support, the Reno10 Pro+ delivers accurate and vibrant color reproduction.
The display of the Reno10 Pro+ is impressive, offering excellent visuals and a high level of detail. However, in the default mode, the overall color temperature may appear slightly on the cooler side. Users need not worry, though, as the phone provides the option to adjust the color display mode and temperature according to personal preferences.
The upper and lower borders of the screen are well-optimized, contributing to a visually immersive experience. The screen’s curvature is moderate, and there are no noticeable green edge artifacts on the curved portions, ensuring a clean and seamless display.
An noteworthy feature is the adoption of the photon matrix display technology, which is also present in the OPPO Find X6 series. This technology enhances photo display details by increasing the brightness of areas beyond the standard dynamic range (SDR), thereby rendering the shooting scene more realistically. Compared to alternative solutions, the photon matrix display technology in the Reno10 Pro+ can increase brightness by approximately eight times. While it may not match the level achieved by the OPPO Find X6 Pro, it still represents a significant improvement in display quality.
Performance
The Oppo Reno10 Pro+ maintains the same core configuration as its predecessor. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ down-frequency version, coupled with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The Snapdragon 8+ down-frequency version has been tested in the market and has shown no significant difference in daily performance compared to the regular Snapdragon 8+ variant. Only under extreme peak performance scenarios, there might be a slight reduction. Therefore, there is no need to worry about the performance of the Oppo Reno10 Pro+, as it still delivers a top-tier experience in the current market.
The AnTuTu V10 benchmark score for the Oppo Reno10 Pro+ reached an impressive 1,318,224 points.
During a 30-minute stress test, the CPU of the Oppo Reno10 Pro+ ran at full capacity without any frequency reduction due to temperature. The overall performance stability was commendable, maintaining between 90% and 95% efficiency.
In terms of gaming performance, the Oppo Reno10 Pro+ was tested using the graphics-intensive game Genshin Impact with high load pressure. However, to provide a more realistic gaming environment, the test duration was extended from 30 minutes to 1 hour, and the test scene shifted from a simple running map in Liyue to a more complex desert map with intricate visual effects and higher battle frequency.
The overall frame rate performance of the Oppo Reno10 Pro+ exhibited significant fluctuations. The average frame rate in the first half hour was 57.6 frames per second, which is considered a normal performance level for the Snapdragon 8+ chipset. However, in the second half of the game, the Oppo Reno10 Pro+ seemed to cap the highest frame rate at around 55 frames per second. The final average frame rate stood at 55.95 frames per second, with the lowest recorded frame rate reaching 18 frames per second.
While the data for the Oppo Reno10 Pro+ may not appear as ideal as some previous Snapdragon 8+ devices, it’s important to note that the overall gaming process in this test was more demanding and lasted longer, providing a gameplay experience that closely resembles that of an actual player.
